The odd improvement here and the odd signing there, the last few days have seen a few in and a few who got away.
Curros Vacas
With Timossi getting on a bit the club decided to bring in someone to cover incase of a injury or retirement. Vacas has all the markings of a good defence minded midfielder who is highly respected and influential amongst his team mates. Curro joined from top XFA side Hammer Time for a bargain £30,000.

Oleg Husyev
The club at the time was lacking in natural midfield wingers and good right back, after failing in a big money bid for Portuguese prospect Nani the club turned to the much cheaper alternative Husyev. Whilst not excelling at any one technical ability he is well rounded, determined and hardworking individual, who poses two things that wide players need and abundance, pace and acceleration. Signed for £187,000 Oleg has gone from strength to strength at the club and is now reported to be worth between £450,000 and £1.1million after just 46 appearances for the team.
Serge Die
With the right hand sorted out with the signing of Husyev the club then turned to the left hand side, after a short spell on trial, Ivorian Serge Die did enough to impress the club manager and he was signed up for a tiny fee of just £10,000. Hes been impressive so far and could well turn out to the signing of the season for the club!

Cacapa
When the club noticed that experienced Brazilian Cacapa was in a auction the club decided that he could well be the man for the club to aim those corners at. He joined for a bargain £87,000. And wow has he shown the fans what hes capable of, hes scored an astonishing 7 goals in 14 games, not bad for a centreback! Im sure Katalyst are kicking themselves for letting him go now.

The last few days have been full of transfer activity at The Dungeon, no less then 5 players have been shown the door…
Amdy Faye
On Saturday ex Newcastle defensive midfielder Amdy Faye was shown the door, rumour has it he was paid off to the tune of £63,000 to leave the club. Amdy was one of the clubs original players but failed to hold down a first team spot, unfortunately ex-Roma legend Tomassi has played superbly in the holding midfielder role for the club despite his age.
Aloisio
Also at the same time as Amdy backup striker, Aloisio, was released from his contract. The journeyman Brazilian featured over 50 times for the club mainly all as a sub, and failed to make his mark on the team only scoreing 3 goals. When the club switched to a lone striker formation his chances of holding down a first team place rapidly diminished as was allowed to leave the club. Many fans wonder what might have been as the club have now gone back to a 4-3-3 formation, could we see him back for a 2nd chance sometime soon?
Clodoaldo
Another Brazilian benchwarmer was sold the following day, Clodoaldo was a good utility player, but whilst a technically gifted player, unfortunately Clod was rather lacking in the mental areas so he like all those who have left before him he couldn’t hold down a first team place and was sold to Dimo Utd for £26,000.
After the signing of a new centreback which saw him fall even further down the pecking order, Cho went to his manager to talk about his position at the club. After a long meeting the clubs manager Robert Webb decided out of respect to place the South Koreon centreback in auction, Cho left the club for Red And Blue United for a reported £50,000. The club and fans wish the player all the best at his new club.
Roman Sharonov
Yesterday saw first teamer Sharonov leave the club on a 7 day loan after another centreback was brought into the club. Whilst Roman hadn’t played badly, actually he’d played quite well, but unfortunately manager Webb had lost confidence in him and wanted a big man who was a natural centreback (Roman is a defensive midfielder by trade) who the team could fire corners into. Rumours are bouncing around that he is a marked man and could soon leave on a permanent deal.

The players have been together for about a week now and the season starts at 8pm, we’ve joined the Afternoon Football Association because it suits my current play time, normally I would have joined a evening FA like Primetime but im on a FML ban at home. All week ive been toying with my tactics and ive finally settled in what is a very attacking 4-5-1. Tho currently ive got a slow winger on trial so ive had to put him out wide in attack so it looks pretty lopsided. Im having to learn tactics skills so I can get it setup how I want it tho so over the course of the season I’ll be tweaking stuff as I unlock it. We’re not doing to bad in the World Rankings, we are currently in 9th. As there isn’t many of us in the AFA we’ve been given the go ahead to jump straight into having a Premiership, normally the first season is Qualifiers to see who ends up in what division, but as we don’t have the numbers we’ve skipped that. The AFA is running 3 competitions one 29 team league, a cup and a tiny youth league. Theres a healthy 15million of prize money to be won, top team in the league will get a treasure chest of a cool 1million! Ive got my eyes set on a podium finish in the league, so my dream of bagging Christiano Ronaldo may well become a reality! Real Madrid eat your heart out! Im not looking forward to the end of the season as all players in teams initial squads are signed on 1 season contracts and not 2 season ones. This is going to mean a thriving transfer market come the end of the season as teams try to sell off the players with expiring contracts before they run out and go for peanuts. Teams only got 5 players they can lock to their club and so far ive earmarked my goalie and striker to be one of these 5.

It’s a surprise ive never noticed a competition quite like it, basically you have a 50/50 chance of doubling your money in these type of competitions, top half double their money and the bottom half of the teams walk away with nothing. Unfortunately I only had £45k to spend so I couldn’t enter the £50k competitions that had been created by other users so I had to do my own. Basically it was setup up as a quick 12 team league with each club only playing each other once at a neutral ground.
It actually ended up quite a tight affair for everyone, and because it there was quite a large amount of money riding on finishing in the top 6 clubs im sure there was a lot of nail biting going on!
In the end we finished a healthy 3rd in the competition, and it gives the club a nice boost to our finances. The only question is should I gamble again but up the entrance fee?

As the clubs in GW22 start to slowly build up cash we’re starting to see the wage auction market starting to come alive, and yesterday The Warriors decided to make their first bid of the new gameworld. The player was England prospect, Micah Richards. Unfortunately a late bid from Chazz FC saw them beat The Warriors to Micahs signature just after midnight.
Whilst Richards is a great player it left a lot of fans slightly bemused that the club was willing to blow what was likely to be there entire cash reserves on just one player, that they really didn’t need as the club has been very tight at the back in the opening days, especially with goalkeeper Marco Storari doing such a great job between the sticks.
Many experts believe that this was just the Warriors flexing their financial muscle in the transfer market, and that shrewd manager Webb was just putting up a smoke screen over other, more viable targets. These experts are of the belief that Robert is infact looking at left and right midfielders as the aging Damiano Tommasi and Claudio Sarria have a staggering 67 years of experience between them.
When I picked my team last Thursday I decided to go for a nice simple default 4-3-3 Attacking. Personaly I cant make tactics from scratch so its default all the way and id heard that theyd been improved a lot and people where getting a lot of success with them.
As you can see from the player list ive got a lot of multi talented players who can playing in attacking midfield and the wings. The main reason for this and the 4-3-3 was because it has great scope for rearranging players to suit playing against other formations. For example if a team has a narrow formation I’ll bring the two wide forwards back like this so I can try and exploit the space down the wings.
If a team is using a AMC I’ll move my MC to DMC to give is extra cover. One of the hardest formations that I come up against is the 5 man midfield, theres two ways of countering this but both have mixed results I find. When up against the 3-5-2 I switch my players about to look like this…
The idea is that in essence the I’ll have 7 man midfield and should be able to out number the opposition. When I come up against the 2nd main type of 5 man midfield of 4-5-1 I switch the players to look like this…
I was hoping to not learn any tactic skills whatsoever, but I keep coming up against teams using the corner exploit, so im now on way way to learning the offensive and defensive corners skill. Which to me is rather annoying that the only way of stopping a known exploit is to spend a few days getting the relevant tactical skills, surely this should be auto unlocked from the start if it’s the only way to fill in the hole?
Its no surprise really that the top team is using the corner exploit to great effect, I’ll let you guess who is challenging the goalie and who is attacking the near post. Hopefuly by tonight my team will be exploiting corners too.
As everyones probably noticed, my site design has changed yet again! As a little expirement i decided to try and get some ideas into the site, all of which have come together brilliantly. The main change is the fact the site is now more dynamic and “should” fit the browser your using, and thanks to some newbie errors from me i had the original site in png format which is larger than what most websites use, now that all graphics are in gif format everythig should load up nice and fast. Im pretty sure im going to stick with the current design now and i can throw myself head first into FML again!
